Mary Tarling is a passionate decorator and renovator with a special affection for Christmas. It is this obsession which led her to being dubbed 'Mary Christmas' by a colleague, a moniker which has stuck, hence the book's title.

For some years Mary has conducted a successful boutique business turning staid corporate spaces into exquisite festive scenes. Her client list is deliberately small and exclusive enabling her to give each of her clients her undivided attention and exceptional personal service.
